To celebrate the 14th anniversary of Dead Space, Motive Studio held a special livestream showcasing the upcoming remake of the game. The presentation featured an extended guided walkthrough showing new gameplay footage as well as a detailed description of features designed to make the game more awesome than ever.
A side-by-side comparison of the videos shows the major differences between the original and the remake. One major change is that the Ishimura is now a seamless, interconnected ship that players can explore more freely. For example, use Isaac’s rocket thrusters to soar through areas you could only walk through before. A new system called Intensity Spawn Director remixes Necromorph spawn points, ensuring that they ambush experienced players in unexpected ways and sometimes, in greater numbers. Dead Space also includes improved Necromorph dismemberment, new side quests designed to take out supporting casts, new alternate fire modes for weapons, new puzzles, and more.
Dead Space will launch on January 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
