Marvel Snap ‘Battle Friends’ PvP Update Coming Later This Month

Posted on

Get your decks ready because later this month it might be time to face off against your friends in Marvel Snap.

Marvel Snap has been a resounding success since its release, allowing players to compete against real-world players with a variety of cards, random locations, and more. Despite the positive reception, one thing players were asking for is missing: the ability to play against your friends. Developer Second Dinner announced in November that it was working on an update to allow friends to battle each other and now, it has announced that the update is expected towards the end of the month.

More specifically, the update is expected in the January 31st Update, but second dinner says If it “runs into any last minute issues, we may choose to delay it for a while to make sure things work correctly,” as reported eurogamer,

The news came out with the word that the developer is introducing series drops to the game.

“It’s been a few months since we introduced the Series 4 and Series 5 cards, and we’re excited about our first Series drop,” its blog post reads. “With every Series drop, some Series 5 cards will move to Series 4, and some Series 4 cards will move to Series 3.”

Here are the cards that fall from Series 5 to Series 4,

  • Valkyrie
  • super-skrull
  • Bast
  • shuri
  • black Panther

Here are the cards that fall from Series 4 to Series 3,

  • luke cage
  • absorbed man
  • she hulk
  • titania

Second Diner says that when card series decline, they become 10 times more common in collector’s reserves, and much cheaper in the token shop. It plans to drop a series like this every month, and each one will require a patch. The aforementioned drop is planned for January 31, along with a PvP update that will allow players to battle their friends. Most cards are on the table for series drops except for two 6-cost cards: Thanos and Galactus.

The First Edition badge will be added to Series 5 cards before being dropped down the series so that players who have earned it before being dropped can indicate to others that they have done so. This badge will appear on all variants of the card and on Infinity Splits. Second Diner is also considering improving the token shop in such a way that it “feels like the Series 4 and 5 earning experience better for those who haven’t completed Series 3.”

Personally, while I’m excited about these series drops, I especially can’t wait for the PvP update so I can finally wipe the floor against one of my best friends with my favorite deck. who for some reason thinks he even has a chance against me.
