After 25 years, the latest season of the Pokémon anime sees protagonist Ash Ketchum finally live out his dream of becoming the Pokémon World Champion. Now that he’s reached the top of the mountain, the series is giving the forever young hero his last hurray before embarking on a new adventure featuring a new cast of characters.
The Pokémon Company announced that starting on January 13th (in Japan), the final chapter of Ash and Pikachu is out. It consists of 11 special episodes that serve as a grand farewell celebrating the achievements of the duo. It also features some familiar faces from Ash’s past, including Misty and Brock.
Sometime later in the year, a new as-yet-untitled animated series set in the Paldia region of Scarlet/Violet begins. It stars two young trainers, Lico and Roy, who are joined by three beginners on that field: Spriggatito, Fucco and Quaxley. The trailer also teases the appearance of the shiny Rayquaza.
So this is it. If you spent your childhood following Ash’s adventures or stuck with him for his entire run, how does it feel to finally see the character get his flowers and ride off into the sunset?
